چکیده
Since shear waves in soft human tissues have been used clinics, little is known about their upper frequency behavior except that they fade out before the ultrasonic regime due to viscoelastic dissipation. Studying this bound has become a need micro-elastography aims at characterizing single cell using waves. We report through phantom experiments observation of 20.4 kHz. Moreover, it shown Kelvin–Voigt model can predict good agreement with experiments. At last, according simple rheological model, maximum error elasticity estimation when viscosity neglected (wide spread perfectly elastic assumption) 40%.

Shear waves and shocks in soft solids.
We study the motion of a sphere falling through soft viscoelastic materials when the time scale of the motion is short compared to the elastic relaxation time of the material. We observe shocks generated by the passage of the sphere at Mach numbers greater than 1. The sphere can undergo oscillations before reaching a steady terminal speed, and we show that these oscillations have the same frequ...
متن کاملUltrasonic micro-elastography on assessing corneal biomechanics
The cornea, the window of the eye, provides approximately two-thirds of the total refractive power. The unique set of corneal biomechanical properties determined by its complex structure plays an important role in maintaining corneal function and human vision system [1]. Many factors, like ageing, trauma, diseases or clinical refractive surgery would affect the corneal biomechanics and finally ...
متن کاملSimultaneous generation of longitudinal and shear bulk ultrasonic waves in solids
The ability to generate acoustic longitudinal and shear bulk waves in solid materials using a single transducer is a suitable feature required in several devices and systems involving ultrasonic waves. The problem addressed here is that of the, possibly wideband, multimode buffer delay line, usable, for example, in non-destructive evaluation applications. The solution considered for this purpos...
متن کاملToward soft-tissue elastography using digital holography to monitor surface acoustic waves.
Measuring the elasticity distribution inside the human body is of great interest because elastic abnormalities can serve as indicators of several diseases. We present a method for mapping elasticity inside soft tissues by imaging surface acoustic waves (SAWs) with digital holographic interferometry. With this method, we show that SAWs are consistent with Rayleigh waves, with velocities proporti...
متن کاملSolitary and compactlike shear waves in the bulk of solids.
We show that a model proposed by Rubin, Rosenau, and Gottlieb [J. Appl. Phys. 77, 4054 (1995)] for dispersion caused by an inherent material characteristic length belongs to the class of simple materials. Therefore, it is possible to generalize the idea of Rubin, Rosenau, and Gottlieb to include a wide range of material models, from nonlinear elasticity to turbulence. Using this insight, we are...
